After many years of ministry as Baptist General Conference missionaries to Mexico, Eric and Janet returned home to the USA in the Fall of 2002 for Eric to work in the areas of leadership and disciple-making ministries.

Dear Praying Partners,

Thanks so very much for your prayers for the LeadNet retreat held in Guadalajara last weekend.  God was faithful!  Our time together was very sweet and the women received the training very enthusiastically.  As we considered the importance of really learning to listen to what others are saying, we began to understand that real listening is about entering into the world of the one who is talking.  It is a tangible to way to show Christ’s love to others, as He showed such great love for us by totally entering our world! Then, as we listen well and learn to ask good questions, our goal is to help others hear God’s answer for themselves. 

 Here are some of the comments made by 3 of the 12 pastor’s wives who attended: 

“Understanding that I don´t have to have all the answers is such a relief!”

“After the coaching practice, I felt relieved and satisfied that I had come up with an attainable goal to begin to resolve my difficulty.”

“I am leaving different than I came.”

Thanks also for your prayers for our time of vacation.  It was indeed restful, renewing and fun!

Eric leaves tomorrow (Friday) for Tecate, Mexico (an hour southeast of San Diego, between Tijuana and Mexicali).  He has been invited there by CWW missionary Tim Nash and is scheduled to lead a three hour seminar on Saturday, speak at a church Sunday, meet with Tim and different pastors and leaders Friday through Tuesday, and talk through different issues with Tim regarding the training center and ministry he’s setting up in Tecate.  Please pray that God uses Eric to deal effectively with key issues which hinder effective church planting and church fruitfulness in his seminar and in each of the ministry opportunities and meetings that he participates in.  This is the kind of thing that he loves to do, so he’ll probably come back pumped!
